A question I get from clients is “what should I wear to the shoot?” So I decided to start sharing some outfits and sources for fun, complete outfits. We’ll start with a Fall Photo Outfit.

Most everyone is a sucker for fall clothes shopping. It’s when the new trends come out and the stores are full of chic to cozy fall clothes. Pulling on jeans again after the hot summer is one of the best feelings right?! That and getting to layer your tops is so fun.

So for this fall photo outfit I pulled all those favorite feels and looks together in a stylish black chic way.  Check it out below.

If you’ve checked out my recent shoots (here + here),  the girls were wearing this style outfit and they looked so smart.

I love the way black plays in the shadows or in contrast to a bright background. It also draws the viewer to your face rather than a colorful ensemble. If you’re looking for a timeless fall photo outfit then this is it.

I added the blanket scarf and aviator accessories for some fun pieces to play with in the pictures. Tell your photographer beforehand that you want to change up your outfit for some of the shots. They might have some ideas for where and how. E.g. Take off your jacket and just have your white shirt stand out; wear your aviators and take a picture looking into the sun; use your scarf as a blanket to cozy up in with your love or wear it and hold your hands up in it for a change in posture.

I have the banana republic high waisted black jeans in this picture and they’re awesome. So flattering on a girl with a shorter torso (that would be me..) Plus they sell them on their factory store page so you can get them for $30-$45 depending on how big the sale is they are running!

The boots and jacket are highly rated on Amazon, which is becoming a great way to find clothes with abundant reviews for a fair price. You’re not guaranteed the quality or returnability factor that you are shopping at Nordstrom, but if you need something quick and cheap- why not?
