Getting to know other photographer’s in the Chelan area has been such a treat! When you’re a photographer it is weirdly hard to have your pictures taken by another photographer because you think, “I can take pictures of everyone in my family exactly the way I want… It’s just that whole family photo part that’s tricky..” So we end up putting up our tri-pod or pass the camera to a friend and hope for the best! (To all the family that has braved taking my camera and critique into their hands, I send my undying love and thanks!!)
With the above in mind, I’ve rather unashamedly asked my local (incredible) photographer friends if they’d want to swap family sessions with me in order to get those sweet pics we’ve been missing out on. And honestly- it has mostly been our first time doing this for real! Haha, it’s ridiculous, but I’m so glad we can help each other out.
This particular family session was with Hillary Belton (of Hillary Belton Photography). I wanted to get some pictures for where I’d be hosting my 2019 Chelan fall mini sessions and they were the ideal candidates! What I loved about working with Hillary is our low expectations for how our kids (and husbands ha!) are going to do during pictures! With that in mind, I worked with them as I would all my other families and we got incredible images.
